Roughly 10 million tires annually are disposed of in Canada, with ~3.5 million of those coming from Ontario. Ground rubber crumb is one of the major ways these tires are recycled to avoid the landfill.

Our playgrounds utilize recycled rubber tires to create the soft, shock absorbing layer that forms the base of every playground we create. Eco-friendly base layers help us reduce the impact on our environment while providing safer playground surfaces for children and communities to enjoy!

Ontario Rubber Installations playgrounds used recycled ground rubber crumb from tires to avoid the landfill

Our most recent playground, Happy Rolph's Animal Farm in St. Catherines, allowed us to use 80,000 pounds of recycled tire rubber to create a shock-absorbing base layer that provides safety for the entire playground surface. This cushioning helped recycle and repurpose roughly 3,000 tires in this playground to provide a safe, fun space for all who use it for many years to come!
